Chapter Eleven

Cole

I looked at Mark shaking my head at him, “What exactly is a being of creation?”

Mark begin to pet the bat on his shoulder while he thought about how to answer me, “A celestial is a creature that creates life or more specifically creatures new life. You familiar for example, is a combination of two separate animals combined to make something new. You can also create animals from scratch if you want. Build anything with a snap of your fingers. That being said you can also uncreated something, such as a person, leaving nothing left except for the memory of them. It is a very beautiful gift, but it can also be very dangerous if you so wished.”

I leaned against the wall sighing, well at least I got something cool but still it seemed like way too much of a responsibility. As if sensing I was uncomfortable Tiberius came forward and rubbed up against me. I smiled at him and then took in a deep breath to build up my courage.

I faced Mark again, “So this may sound a little weird but were am I supposed to put Tiberius he is kind of big to keep in doors.”

Mark smirked at me, “Well you could be like me and take him everywhere with you as I do with Terminal here, or if you want, we have a stable were me parents and Turner keep their familiars.”

I nodded my head, “Can I check it out first, and where does Will keep his familiar then?”

Mark sat up from the wall and began walking away talking as he went, “My baby brother’s familiar isn’t exactly portable and is far to free to be kept in a stable. Perhaps if you ask nicely maybe he will let you meet Leopold although I doubt it.”

I nodded accepting his answer and realizing I wasn’t going to get a better one anytime soon. We walked to a set of steel doors hammered into stone causing me to raise my eyebrows.

Mark saw my look, “My father likes to look imposing steel doors are one of the ways he does that.”

I shook my ear laughing about how absurd it was, Mark saw my and just rolled his eyes forcing the doors open with one hand. What I saw when they flew open took my breath away.

The lawn was wide and open and was such a lush green that it looked faked. It stretched on for so long the wall that marked the edge of the property was so far away it looked small. Off to my left was what looked like a hedge maze and to my right was a stone stable that I assumed housed the familiars. I followed Mark to them scanning the property for any sign of another garden or something.

Mark opened the door and nodded back to the house. I spun on my heel and my breath caught. The house was more like a large castle complete with a turret and made of a solid black stone.
